Comprehensive Resource Gathering Guide
Clash of Kings is a resource intensive game, as you upgrade your buildings toward 30, you will find that you will always be lacking resources necessary to continue build, research, and grow your castle. This comprehensive gathering guide will hopefully give you some better strategies and tips to gather more efficiently in the game. We will first go through basic information about these resource gathering tiles, then move on to actual strategies and tips to improve your rss gathering efficiency.
Resource Gathering Basics
You send out your troops to gather from World Map. The resource tiles correspond to the resources that you carry. Different wild resource tiles generate RSS as well as materials needed for forging equipment.
Farm -> Food
Lumber Yard -> Wood
Iron Mine -> Iron (Unlocked at Castle 10)
Mythril Mine -> Mythril (Unlocked at Castle 15)
Gold Mine -> Gold
The resource plots have different levels, higher level resource plots have higher amount of resources inside them. However, THE GATHERING SPEED OF ALL RESOURCE PLOTS ARE THE SAME REGARDLESS OF LEVEL. This means that higher level resource lands do not generate faster resources. With that said, because of the higher resource counts in a higher level tile, you can save some of that traveling speed by farming more efficiently with a higher level tile.
Buffs that indirectly improve your gathering efficiency include Troop Load and Marching Speed.
Resource Tile Level Distribution and Strategic Castle Placement
The level of the resource tiles become higher the closer you move towards the center of the kingdom map. Occasionally, you can get a few “rare” tiles that are 2 levels higher than its average adjacent tiles. The center area can sometimes run into trouble because you might be very close to other alliances. As alliances fight over resource tiles, you will end up having conflicts such as tile hits and revenge hits.
Because the resource tiles do not offer faster gathering speed as you level up, the best location is actually in areas between level 5~6 tiles, or level 6~7 tiles. If you login frequently into the game and send out your marches to gather, you should not have that much issue with level 6 tiles. You generally should gather from a tile that is at least level 5 for a longer occupation time.
To be able to hold a spot right next to the center area, your alliance has to be top of the kingdom and ready to fight for your location at any given moment.
Below is a list of resource tile levels and the resources that they offer. As you can see, a level 7 resource tile is roughly 50% more than a level 6.

Gathering Speed and Number of Marches
A huge part of your gathering speed is determined by how many troops you can send out, but that efficiency is quickly capped as soon as you have enough troops to “finish” an entire tile by one march. Below are the castle levels and VIP levels where you can get additional march. At the time of writing, you can get a total of 5 marches unlocked at the following level. Trying to unlock the marches is essential to a much faster gathering speed.
Castle Level 5
(Military Research Legion I)
Castle Level 11
(Military Research Legion II)
VIP8
Castle Level 20
(Military Research Legion III)
How to Improve Your Gathering Speed – Research and Lord Skill
There are two passive buffs that you can get to improve your farming speed, Resource Research Tree and Lord Skill Development Tree. Please note that we do not have the complete data for this section yet, as we are still unlocking these on our game. Your goal is to focus on one type of the resource gathering boosting passive first. The reason is that the skill points for your Lord is limited, thus it is generally better to stick with 1.

Gathering Speed Trick with Existing Gathering March
For the active gathering speed boosts from item and skill, there is a trick that you can do to improve your resources gained.
Gathering speed works in two ways, first it will “DOUBLE” your existing gathering runs, second it will boost your “SPEED” for the duration of the buff. You can take full advantage of the buff when you are roughly 40% through your gathering run with the buffs.
For example: You start a long gather attempt at your Alliance Supermine with all the troops. The gathering will take 24 hours to complete. When the timer reaches 12 hours, you will still have 12 hours left on your gather. At this time, if you cast INSANE gathering that doubles your speed, your march will FINISH gather immediately, finishing the remaining 12 hours in an instant. With this gathering trick or “glitch”, you can potentially gain much more resources.
How to Improve Gathering Speed with Gathering Speed Buffs
Clash of Kings offers two kinds of gathering speed buff as an item. After using the item you can get 50% from your base speed.
Gathering Bonus (24 Hours)
600 Gold from Store
120k Honor Points from Alliance Store
How to Improve Gathering Speed with Lord Skill Insane Gathering
In the development skill tree of your Clash of Kings Lord. There is a skill that you can unlock early on in the tree called insane gathering. This skill will boost your gathering speed by 100% for 2 hours.
Insane Gathering has a cooldown of 18 hours that “starts” the cooldown period after the 2 hour buff ends. This means that you can cast this skill to boost your gathering speed every 20 hours.
Gathering Bonus from Alliance Super Mine
Alliance Super Mine is an alliance building that can be built with an Alliance’s R4 or R5. The Alliance Super Mine is a great hiding place to protect your troops and they offer additional gathering speed bonus. Because of the boost, you should always have at least 1 march gathering from the Super Mine.
The Alliance Super Mines will drop forging materials like normal wild rss tiles.
Gathering and Daily Event
To win the gathering segment of the daily events, please refer to our Daily Events strategy guide (Still being written at the moment).
Gathering and Farm Accounts
To be able to keep up with the intensive need of resources at higher level. You will almost inevitably need to create farm accounts to help with the gathering power. We will brush upon a little guidelines into creating a basic gathering farm account.
Castle Level:
Need to reach Castle 13 for bonus Food / Wood gathering. If you are gathering Mythril, your castle needs to reach level 15.
Hyper Resource Gathering:
Emphasize the Lord Skill and Research towards 1 type of resource gathering buff. Your goal is to make the gathering account hyper efficient in the RSS that it specializes in.
Gathering and Secondary Satellite Alliances
Since each alliance can have 1 type of Alliance Super Mine at any given time, you might want to create 2~3 Satellite alliances that feature other Resources. For example, the main alliance can have Iron as its main Super Mine. And the players can go off and create more alliances and build the Castle Fort accordingly in adjacent area. These “farm” alliances will then build Farm , Sawmill, or even Mythril Mine for the other resources
The con of this setup is that you will need R4 or R5 to be constantly on to accept players that want to make the jump. Unless you want to make your alliance free to join at all times which can be problematic against spies or strangers.
